  • SAGE (Seeking After God Everyday or Serving Aging Growing Evangelizing) is a vibrant, diverse group of spiritually inspired mature Christian women.

Together, we seek to address the needs of other mature women in the Hampton Roads region. You’ll find us pursuing Jesus’ mission:

    • Sharing Christian fellowship

    • Acting as prayer warriors for our congregation, our community, and our world

    • Helping each other to grow & mature spiritually as disciples of Jesus Christ

    • Serving our church family and our neighbors

And we are great friends! We keep in touch throughout the week, praying for each other and sharing our lives. We would love to meet you and get to know you, too.

  • What began as a small daytime Bible study, has blossomed into a group of more than 35 women (ranging in age from 50 to 80+) who are excited to grow and serve God in a variety of ways.

God has multiplied this ministry mainly due to the love that we share among our circle and with others. We do our best to be great examples of John 13:34,35 — "A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another.  By this everyone will know that you are My disciples, if you love one another."

Our SAGE ministry meets twice each month to study, teach and discuss God's Word; share our faith; and celebrate milestones, including spiritual birthdays. SAGE members also practice hospitality; visit the sick and infirmed; and foster relationships with young moms, campus students, and other young women. As we continue to grow, we pray that God will continue to use and guide us in HIS Service for HIS Glory.

SAGE is largely supported by the Lydia Leadership Group, an amazing and impactful assembly of women serving the ministry through purposeful outreach, mentorship, hospitality, and communion service.

  • In His Word, God reminds us that as we age we are valued in His Eyes and continue to be vital to the work in His Kingdom.

For example, the Book of Psalms teaches us that we will "flourish in the courts of the Lord," "still bear fruit in old age,” and ”declare His Mighty Acts to the next generation."

Likewise, Titus 2 inspires us to do good for the sake of the Gospel by living reverently and teaching what is good to our younger women so that "no one will malign the Word of God."
