After A great Devo Friday night and a spectacular Sister's Encouragement Night on Saturday night, God blessed the HRC Campus with Laurine Mason from ODU and Desmond Fogg from NSU getting baptized on Sunday morning and Dennis Patterson from ODU on Monday afternoon.

Papers, projects, playoffs, and performances all start to ramp up and it can become easier and easier to be distracted from God. It is truly inspiring how these incredibly faithful freshmen have taken stands on where God belongs in their lives: FIRST, all the while excelling in their academics and athletics. 

    God has truly been working in the lives of so many people on the Hampton Roads Campuses and we can't wait to see how God finishes the rest of the semester. Welcome to the family Laurine, Desmond, and Dennis! We are so excited for the decisions you have made and we can't wait to see how God will use all of you in the future!

Here in Hampton Roads we love our sisters. In fact when we hear this scripture, we absolutely think of them. That's why on Saturday night, the brothers entitled their Sisters' Encouragement Night, "Wish Upon A Star" to encourage their amazing sisters in a Disney Themed extravaganza.

The brothers sang Disney songs in honor of their Princess-like sisters. They cooked Disney themed food to encourage the palates of their sisters. They fellowshipped and finally danced, that's right danced, with their wonderful sisters as everyone enjoyed our incrediblke family here in Hampton Roads. 

From all the brothers in the Hampton Roads Campus Ministry, WE LOVE OUR SISTERS, and we are so grateful for the way you encourage us as we lead you, inspire us with your faith, protect us with your modesty, and love us as godly women. Thank you and thank God for our Sisters!

With Easter Sunday filled with candy, talk of bunnies, and let's face it, delicious Easter dinner food, it gets easier every year to let the fact that Jesus was dead and he is now alive lose its weight. But after a powerful Easter service in Norfolk, the Campus ministry was blessed to see Brittney Austin, a student at Hampton University, make the decision to become a disciple and be baptized, it was clear that Jesus is well and alive today.

It falls to us to remember that Jesus' resurrection remains our only hope in this world. As doubt rises and the fires of skepticism are fanned into flame at the Universities we attend, the fact remains, He is Risen. 

He is Risen. 

Of all the religions in the world, all the great thinkers and philosophers in the history of the world, they are all dead. They have all passed on into history. But Jesus rose! He remains alive today. As we celebrate our new sister and welcome her into the family, we also celebrate the fact that we have such a great hope as this new life in him.

This weekend was Parents Weekend in the Hampton Roads Campus Ministry! We are so blessed to have amazing parents that support us. On Saturday we gathered at Whitehurst Beach at ODU for a cookout and a time of games and fellowship. Thank you to all the parents and family members who came out to enjoy the picture perfect day with us. Brittany King, Jenn Woodham, Alanna McCalla, Amy Rosenquist, and Michaela Bittle after Michaela's baptism.Michaela Bittle was baptized on Sunday afternoon at Oceanview Beach, finishing the Campus Feed the 15,000 campaign. Following the on-campus service at ODU everyone headed over to Oceanview still in their sunday best, to join Michaela and her family. A small well-dressed army of disciples made a circle of sharing to welcome Michaela into the family of God. Many tears of joy were shed, many hugs were given, and finally Michaela and her now-sisters waded into the Ocean and baptized her. God has been so good in the first couple weeks of the year, and surely more blessings are coming. Welcome to the family Michaela!
